Weekly Poems: A Sixth Anniversary Poem and More

HAPPY SIXTH ANNIVERSARY

Happy sixth anniversary!
As years pass, the coating wears away,
Perhaps revealing more than one can see,
Perhaps revealing more than one can say.
Yet what one feels is more than ecstasy.

So is love far more than one can bear --
In grace, in truth, in sacrifice, in power.
Xylophones play on unheard, the air
Tingling somewhere deep beneath the hour,
Heaven within the heart that seeks it there.

HOW MIGHT I, IN FAITH, DO AS YOU ASK

How might I, in faith, do as You ask?
Innocent, I hung upon Your Word,
Great with the intention to be good.
However, here life flows the other way.

How might I remove the inner mask,
Opening my heart to the absurd,
Letting go the righteousness I would
Yet have between the truth and what I say.

Deliver me, then, naked to this task,
And turn away, Whom I so long have served.
Yearning to repent, as well I should,
So let me see myself in my own gaze.

THESE SEVEN MONTHS THAT WE HAVE BEEN TOGETHER

These seven months that we have been together
Have been the loveliest of all my life.
All moments dance within your balmy weather,
Nor could my heart be anything but blithe,
Knowing I have all that I desire.

You''ve chosen me, with all the world to choose,
On whom your glance falls like a holy fire,
Undoing all that would such joy refuse.

HAPPINESS, ALL SNUG, LIES FAST ASLEEP

Happiness, all snug, lies fast asleep
As spirits roam the neighborhoods at night,
Let loose upon the Earth till it be light,
Laughing revelers, whom death doth keep.
O spirits lost, who wail but cannot weep,
Wanton worshippers of rage and spite,
Each the unknown author of its plight,
Equal in the pain you sow and reap,
Now come to us from out your vasty deep!

SOME FIND THEIR IDENTITY IN COURAGE

Some find their identity in courage,
In giving nothing up to l oss or pain,
X-ing out all traces of self-pity,
Then taking on the demons once again,
Yielding only what the years must ravage.

Sing, then, of those who rise above the damage,
In valor beautiful, if rarely pretty,
Xerophytes that bloom in harsh terrain.

I''M MARRIED TO THIS MUSLIM ARAB

I''m married to this Muslim Arab,
A lovely woman who wears the hijab.
Our differences dissolve in love
Of God, of life, of one another.

A lovely woman who wears the hijab
Comes naked to my marriage bed.
Of God, of life, of one another,
We then say not a single word.

Comes naked to my marriage bed,
As naked as we are to God.
We then say not a single word,
But silently I thank the Lord.

As naked as we are to God,
Our differences dissolve in love,
But silently I thank the Lord
I''m married to this Muslim Arab.

READ THE HOLY BOOK AS THOUGH ASLEEP

Read the Holy Book as though asleep,
And in a dream awaken to its beauty,
Making it the music of your moment
And weaving it like gold throughout your day.
Do not come to it alone to reap,
Avid for the kernels of your duty,
Neglecting the thick flowers in your way.

WHAT MAN FEARS IN SILENCE

I have come to discover that what man fears most after death is "CHANGE". Man believes change threatens his position, he fears change could bring disaster or lack, this has gone beyond been paranoid or cynical, this is a deadly disease.

Man stubbornly ignore the fact that every smooth going will surely experience some bumps here and there, like they say the only constant thing is change. For more mind blowing articles please visit WWW.FEELREALITY.BLOGSPOT.COM

If man does not fear change why then does a leader become very uncomfortable knowing one day , that position would be held by another. Some say its a colour related problem beacuse it is so evident and feasible around a particular group of people.

Time feeds change, as it moves , change also moves, what man can do to stop change from coming to them is either they kill time or tie it down. That is why a young boy or man fears to change into an old , weak senile man.

A beautiful girl with firm and lucious breas t fears that one day they are going to sag and guys will stop chasing after her. A military government fears a change to democrazy, a dictator fears a change to a free society.

Rebels fear peace talks and seize fire talks beacuse of the fear of change. When change comes it brings everything with it,laughter, pain, joy, sorrow, love , peace, haterd, and what ever it feels like bringing.

Have you thought of this, where will the next change meet you.

AS LONG AS MAN KEEPS HIDING FROM THE FACT, HE REMAINS A VICTIM TO THIS BIG Fear "CHANGE"

When I LOST A DEAR FRIEND.

When a child looses his/her favorite toy, the world just seem to be a big place of sadness and pain cos nothing else matters anymore.

When a boy looses the love and affection of his mother, life just turns out to be a big box of hostilityand lonelyness.

So i feel by loosing a very dear and good friend, not to death ,sickness or war but to distance, social status, age and some values and idea that tends to be stronger than the bond and goodness we share.

Though we don''t connect bodily but we connect through the spirit, soul and mind, we see ourselves through the eyes of our minds and communicate through the voice in our hearts, but the link has been broken and my heart and soul feels let down, cause of this friend.

A friend at the other end on the other side of life, my once happy heart weeps, when a good friend stopped been a friend either willingly or unwillingly.

When someone that was so close to you in spirit and soul, just fizzles out, like smoke in the air.

Though the distance between us put in our hearts the fear of a sudden and unexpected breakup and separation.

As thought and as feared, it happened, what we feared most has come out to hunt us, its now like a reality that one hopes and wishes can just stay in the fantasy world.

A friend with such good and benevolent heart, a heart that finds expression in genuine smiles, smiles that travel deep into the heart from such a long mile is worth everyting to me.

What gives me consolation is knowing that this friend is not alone, she has 4 beautiful angels that guide her and make her keep that beautiful smile on her face.

Even though she is so, so far away, but not too far from the rader of my mind and heart to pick, cos thats the only way i connect and reflect on the good memories and beautiful times we shared.

She made me realise that though the world looks to be soo big and enigmatic but not too big for good hearts to connect, and that friendship is all about t rust, respect and the utmost thing "love".

An agape love, the love that operates outside physical conditions.

A love that just keeps renewing itself, a natural love, alove without pain.

That is what she made me see and realise, i just say a big thank you to this Friend. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ONE TRUE FRIEND IS BETTER THAN THOUSANDS OF UNTRUE BUDDIES. I STILL BELIEVE IN FATE, I KNOW FATE THAT OPENED THE GATE FOR OUR FRIENDSHIP WILL STILL MAKE OUR PATH CROSS SOME DAY EITHER IN THIS LIFE OR THE NEXT

TIME TIME TIME

Time ,time, a word close in importance and value as love. Time moves quietly with a pseuodopic feet,it moves gradually and casually. it never gets tired of movingas if that was what it was created for.

Its like a police, it follows you where ever you go. It is responsible for day to day activities around the world, what holds two disagreeing countries from going to war is time, cause when the time comes then nothing can stop the war.

Time heals deep wounds, even wounds that have birth convictions. It gives rise to the regeneration of life and also opens way for the degeneration of life as it goes by.

What stands between a seed and a tree is time, cause surely when the time comes the seed would grow into a big tree. As time moves the earth is drawn closer to twilight, like what we have now, "GLOBALWARMING".

As time moves a boy grows to become a man, whether a responsible or irresponsible man. A girl also approaches womanhood as time moves, it could be a happy or sad w omanhood.

The strength of time is in its silence, if it had a voice it would warn us that is coming. It needs no permission or motivation to move, it moves with the freedom an eagle has when soaring in the sky.

This thing called "Time" breathes forgiveness into a vindictive heart, it also sow into the earth what was not there.

Time could turn a very good friend into a big enemy, and a foe into a confidant. With time a love that was so sweet could turn sour and tasteless, while where there was no affection could start flowing with affection and love.

START RESPECTING TIME SO IT DOESN''T PUT IN YOUR HANDS WHAT YOU DON''T WANT.

Weekly Poems: A Love Sonnet and More

ONCE MORE, WITH FEELING, PLEASE

Once more, with feeling, please! I''ve had enough
Of lubricated passion come and gone!
Years and years and years and years of stuff
Squirting, squirting, squirt - and then it''s done!
With feeling, please! Companionship, affection,
Shared pain, shared joy, shared silences, shared thoughts.
Not ecstasy fast moving towards rejection,
Frantic with the fear of time and loss.
Slow down, life! Slow down, and be content
Just to be awhile, and let love grow
Or not, as seedlings by the wind are sent
To find their bit of fertile earth, or no.
Let there be no ecstasy until
The plant has been well tended by the will.

HOLD ME TO YOUR WILLING HEART

Hold me to your willing heart
And let me - help me - weep
That I of need might fall apart
And then at last might sleep.

Let the truth slice into me
That I might finally bleed
And purge myself of agony
I cannot now concede.

For I have bound myself in light
That I might live in joy,
And cannot - will not - let the night
My bonds of love destroy.

And yet I know if I would gain
The peace for which I pray,
I must allow the floods of pain
To wash my love away.

YOUR FEAR IS NOT SURPRISING

Your fear is not surprising.
It''s always ended badly:
Fury, betrayals, recriminations.
Then, for days and weeks and months
An agony worse than grief
Because you also feel like such a fool.

Love is like diving or rock climbing:
Spectacular, but your heart sticks in your mouth
Every moment you''re there.
There''s an ease in not caring,
A looseness in the belly.
Then, as love approaches, a knot tightens like a snake.

Being alone and free is like looking in from outside:
People give and get affection,
Are seized by extraordinary happiness and pain,
Live in prison and in heaven,
Deal with the necessity of working on what must be worked out,
While you watch them as if they were on TV.

Life is full of love and difficulty.
Its riches cannot be gotten at except through choice.
You must enter it by loving this person or that person,
And people inevitably fall short of your hopes.
But to live and not love, and not be loved,
Is like spending your entire life alone in your room.

CAN''T YOU SEE? DON''T YOU CARE

Can''t you see? Don''t you care
I want to die?
Don''t you listen? Can''t you hear
My silent cry?

Won''t you turn? Can''t you hold
Me to your heart?
Are you afraid of what might follow
Once you start?

Would you rather not believe
I''m in such pain
That all your sense and good advice
Must be in vain?

Would you rather tell yourself
I''ll be OK,
And all this adolescent angst
Will go away?

Ah! Would I also swim across
This lake alone!
But if you cannot swim with me,
I know I''ll drown.

PROVERBS OF A NERD

--The evil I do people seem to like; it''s the good that''s often turd and bones.

--If I think, I''m probably not.

--Do unto me as you would have liked to do unto others.

--God grant me the courage to pester women who will never like me,
The serenity to reject women who are desperate enough to be interested in me,
And the density to ignore the inference.

YOU''LL HAVE TO WOO YOUR WIFE AGAIN

You''ll have to woo your wife again,
And then again, and then again,
As many times as there are times
A well-worn silence tells you when.

You''ll have to play the lover new,
All hot to touch and squeeze and kiss,
All shivery with ecstasy
Unbuttoning the buds of bliss.

You''ll have to re-seduce a flesh
Familiar as your own raw nude
With praise and passionate displays
Of need and joy and gratitude.

For you not need give up for life
The pure and simple gift of lust.
A mar riage does as marriage is:
The play of pleasure, love, and trust.

LOVE REDEEMS THE PASSIONS OF THE MOMENT

Love redeems the passions of the moment
Underneath the qualms that quell the sea.
All the queries that have room to comment
Know quite well how good it is to be!
Love allows the rivers to run freely,
The tides to turn without the least regret,
The mountains to give way to time, sincerely
Pleased with what the eons will forget.
Love turns every moment to forever,
And every thing to unintended song,
And makes a worship out of all endeavor,
And through its suffering, undoes all wrong.
Bear witness, then, in love, that you might bear
To be, with neither purpose nor despair.
